Update

Hey

It's 2 AM and I'm exhausted so I'm going to make this one short.

Got a lot of work done today. No new updates on the cardboard weapons yet (see below), but we started some new stuff.

We made an Optimus Prime helmet, but the proportions are way off. Oh well, looks cool. Transform and roll out!

And Jimmy wanted to make a cool Venom hat. Turned out great. The picture really doesn't do justice.

We made some cool shirts too, but I don't have any pictures. Stay tuned.

Halo Weapons Build

Posted by Andy | | Posted On Friday, March 19, 2010 at 7:48 AM

Hey again,

Since the cardboard has been going so great, I've decided to make the next couple posts "Halo Weapons" instead of giving them their own individual posts.

Anyway.

The next build was an SMG from Halo (but I based mine off of Halo 3). Here's some pictures.

So, since I didn't bring my camera (still) I had to upload some phone pictures. Also, since I didn't have my camera, I don't have any developmental pictures, so you get to see what I had circa last night around midnight. So far, about 10 hours of work.

I think for my next step, I want to fiberglass and mold it. From there, the finished product will be entirely plastic. Stay tuned.

AR Dev Diary 1

Hey guys.

Well, it's been a while since I've updated anything on here, and that's mainly because it's been a while since we've built anything.

Last week I went to visit my family in California, and before that, there was a period of about a week and a half where we were just in a rut (let's pretend that never happened).

So good news! We're back to building, and at this rate, faster than we were before. we decided to build weapons out of cardboard. It's a great material to use, and if you can find it, it's free!

Our build is to make a steampunk pistol to compliment our costumes (which I currently don't have any pictures of (I forgot my camera AGAIN)) and an Assault Rifle from Halo 3. This blog post is about the latter.

The Assault Rifle is a trademark weapon of Halo 3 because it was last seen in the first Halo. It's be retooled and redone to be an actually good weapon, and it's the starter for most matches.

Our plan was to use wizardofflight's blueprints, and go from there.

(For the record, that is totally Wizard's blueprints, and I take no credit to them what-so-ever, but on a side note, thanks for posting them Wizard.)

So since I don't have my camera, here's what we've got so far.

Cool, huh? Jim thinks we can be paint ready by the end of the day. Heck yeah.
